Home is being in a safe space with your friends and loved ones. Anywhere I can be me.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of home is my dogs and cats. And home is about food. My mum always makes the best food so every time I think ‘I’m going home’, the first thing that comes to my mind is ‘I get to eat my mama's food’. So…I feel most rooted when my stomach is satiated! My sister Aditi and I didn't have the most traditional upbringing, but my mum always really enjoyed celebrating festivals and doing all of the things that come with celebrating festivals. We always joined her and that was kind of a tradition for us. The three of us sitting in the kitchen and cooking, or sitting outside and making kolams – which is like rangoli. Home, to me, is family, friends and being able to be in a safe space with loved ones. Anywhere I can be me.
If you have an ambition, that’s the inspiration. If you have a goal, that’s what keeps you going. Anything that involves growth is ambitious.
